When To Go To Taormina

Taormina is one of the most romantic places in Europe to celebrate your Anniversary of Honeymoon. Tree lined walks, sunsets, this place seems like it was created for couples. Throughout Sicily, Easter is a major celebration and Taormina is no different with numerous traditional and more religious festivals in and around town. Temperatures remain comfortable till mid June. July, August and September are the hottest months with August being the hottest of all, this coincides with the main Italian holidays.

September is another great time to visit as Taormina cools down again making it ideal for sports. For the sport enthusiasts, play golf on a real live active volcano, with a backdrop of the beautiful Mediterranean. Swim, scuba dive, sunbath or just walk all year round on the wonderful sandy beaches.

Temperatures rarely fall below 22c (72F) until the end of October. Sicilian winters are short on the coast and very mild making Taormina a popular off season resort.

Taormins’s main street the “Corso Umberto” has a pleasant selection of coffee-shops, bars, pasticcerias, piano-bars, wine-bars, pubs and nightclubs. Most popular wine bars include the Arco Rosso, Intromenia (wine bar and internet cafĂ©) and the Via Spuches.
