Taormina, Italy

Possibly considered one of the most beautiful cities in all of Italy, the beautiful city of Taormina has much to offer. Set with spectacular views of Mt. Etna, Taormina is set on a wonderful mountaintop. Taormina gets lots of tourists throughout the year and could possibly be considered a tourist trap, but that shouldn’t deter you from visiting this medieval type town.

The boutiques are wonderful and the upscale shopping is second to none. The carefully preserved medieval architecture is absolutely beautiful. If you are into that sort of thing, you will enjoy the structures that encompass this tourist haven.

Taormina has some of the best views of the bay that you can find in Italy, and that is saying something considering that most of Italy is surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea. It has something for everybody from the young to the old. It has been called home or vacation spots for many a celebrity from Greta Garbo to Elizabeth Taylor. Even the intellectual have travelled its streets in an effort to regroup themselves.

If you plan on making a trip to Italy, specifically Sicily or the neighboring areas, make sure that you pencil in a stop at Taormina. You will not regret it.
